Learn More About SEMCD Dentures

At Fischer Denture Clinic, we are proud to specialize in BPS Precision Dentures. To further advance the efficacy and comfort of these dentures, we incorporate a ‘suction denture’ technique pioneered by Dr. Jiro Abe known as SEMCD dentures.

This technique engages more of the oral surface to create a seal around the denture border. This achieves a suction effect for a more secure and precise fit.

The process for creating BPS precision dentures is very accurate and thorough. This results in a much more natural and functional device. It’s all about the first impression!

How Do Precision Dentures Work?

Dr. Jiro Abe of Japan has developed the lower suction denture technique which he calls Suction Effective Mandibular Complete Denture (SEMCD). The peripheral borders of the lower denture are sealed through the oral submucosa and thus lower suction is achieved.

A personalized SEMCD denture is made to suit each person’s individual look, and its success relies on accurate additional measurements of your face and jaw. Additional measurements assure a more precise function in relation to the movements of your jaw.

Then, your precision denture prosthesis is handcrafted to match your age, complexion, and facial features to create a beautiful, natural smile. Additional procedures are incorporated in the construction of your denture to closely mimic the movements of your jaw.

Premium materials are used to create high-quality teeth during the construction of your denture to ensure a positive outcome you will be happy with for years to come. A precision denture provides excellent function, fit, comfort, and appearance—four qualities every denture wearer wants from their device!

FAQ

What are the best dentures to get?

The best dentures to get are ones that fit comfortably, look natural, and function properly. For most patients, precision dentures are the best path for achieving these goals. However, the right denture is different for every patient which is why it’s important to speak to your denturist about all of your options.

What are precision dentures?

Precision dentures render the most natural-looking smile that closely resembles natural teeth, as well as mimicking the feel and function of regular teeth. They fit more accurately and higher-quality materials result in stronger teeth that are also less prone to staining.
